AFI Model casting a success

Models from all over Africa came through at the AFI Joburg Fashion Week model casting at Melrose Arch, Fire and Ice Hotel, on Tuesday 28 August 2018.

AFI Joburg Fashion Week is around the corner and on Tuesday the AFI held the model casting in preparation of the upcoming fashion week. The casting saw a number of models coming from many countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria and Botswana to name just a few.

There were a number of new faces who will be walking the ramp for the first time bringing a fresh look at the AFI Joburg Fashion Week. The runway will be a good balance of new faces and the experienced models who have been doing fashion shows all over the world.

Shaun from Sync Model Management was very excited when he was told he is going through the next round. “This will not be my first runway but I’m very excited for the opportunity and I’m looking forward to be part of AFI Joburg Fashion Week,” Shaun said.

Isioma from Nigeria who is represented by Fabulous.Com Models said that it will be her first time in the AFI fashion week stages. “It will be my first time at the AFI stages and I’m super excited. I have done Lagos Fashion Week and other fashion shows in Nigeria. I am looking forward to see the beautiful garments from top designers and I know AFI is one of the platforms that will assist me in growing my career,” Isioma said.

AFI Joburg Fashion Week 2018 will showcase the best of African fashion with a sprinkle of Asian flavour. This #AfroAsia themed event runs from 4 to 6 October 2018 at Melrose Arch, before closing with two spectacular final shows at iconic Johannesburg landmarks on 7 October.
