BRAND VISION

AfroModTrends is an African inspired womenswear affordable luxury with the philosophy of not just making clothes to sell but becoming part of the story of the fashion conscious but value seeking woman looking to assert her African uniqueness.We adopted the term ‘afro-fusion’ to characterise our products as a blend of the traditional African wax print and other fabrics which appeals to both the local and international market. Our vision is to become the go-to fashion brand for ready-to-wear and bespoke afro-fusion outfits in the next 5 years with an established presence in the Western, Eastern and Southern African markets.

CLOTHING DNA

AfroModTrends focuses on ready-to-wear and bespoke outfits. There are no over–elaborate cuts or avant-garde styles but only appealing clean lines with the appropriate finish and finesse. This helps achieve its everyday chic sophistication. Our collections are an apt description of the personality and character of the designer; simple lines, unfussy yet chic, classy but sexy and definitely worth a second look.

COLLECTION INSPIRATION FOR MBWCT

This collection is ‘THE AFRICAN GATSBY’. It represents the imagination of an African Gatsby party full of luxury, glamour and splendour set in the 1920’s but with a modern African twist. The 1920s was a time of great changes in the world of fashion for women. There was an introduction of new styles, designers, and perspectives. With this new feeling of power, fashion became a high priority of the majority of women during the time. This era redefined womanhood and, in appearance at least, bridged the gap between rich and middle class women. My vision with this collection is to showcase a glamorous African woman in luxurious afro-fusion garments inspired by the Great Gatsby. With African inspired fabrics from Printex Limited, a Ghanaian textile company, this collection shows the beauty of the feminine form with details to project its luxurious feel.

AIMS/ HOPE FOR MBFWCT

Our main aim for MBFWCT is to introduce AfroMod into the South African market with hopes of gradually establishing a presence there. MBFWCT is a great platform to showcase West African fashion. We hope to also make contact with stockists who will be interested in carrying our line.
