DESIGNER NAME: Cherrie Couture BACKGROUND: South Africa
To be the leading South African modest, modern trendy fashion line catering for women of all ages, shapes and sizes.
The essence of Cherrie Couture lies in the designers true to form instinct for the feminine body and her ability to create garments that flatter all figures while being modest. These designs are slimming and the fabrics are easy to wear, following the lines of all female curves. Her enthusiasm, personal flair and love of assisting women together with her clever utilisation of textiles and fabrics enhance her flair to create the clients second skin, which is form simplicity within its very nature. Style and comfort are inherent with this designers passion for women who are from all walks of life and straddle the divide of being true multi-taskers living within todays modern world yet still retain their old fashioned values and simultaneously be fashion forward.
COLLECTION INSPIRATION FOR MBFWCT
The inspiration for this line comes from her daughters wedding preparations and central to this theme are the bows, which are inherent with any festive occasion and personify happiness and joy.
Due to being a relatively new designer and as the saying goes, “New kid on the block,” the range has yet to be highlighted on fashion platforms to be in contention for such accolades.
AIMS/ HOPE FOR MBFWCT
My aim is to bring chic, high fashion modest wear to the broader public by showcasing at MBFWCT and reaching new target audiences with the enhanced exposure a platform like this can bring to the industry.
An experience like this would enhance my profile in the fashion world which can showcase that modest wear can walk the runway in our country and achieve our goal that we can achieve designer wear whilst being cogniscent of current trends.
This would also support my vision that eventually I’ll open a larger factory to progress to the next level and continue empowering women by constant development and growth. South Africa needs smme’s that can create sustainable jobs and we believe that modest fashion is a constantly developing growth and expansion market.
