NN Vintage was established in 2007 by the owner and CEO Nhlanhla Nciza. Its initial purpose was to work with and assist up-and-coming young designers, to broaden the exposure to their work. Nhlanhla also assisted the young designers with designing garments and also honoured these young designers by wearing their garments on numerous stages across the world. The public’s sheer appreciation of Nhlanhla’s style and dress sense has led to a forever growing demand for her clothing, and that was the birth of the NN Vintage clothing range.

NN Vintage’s vision is to be a dynamic clothing brand, which embeds its designs in elegance, with the appreciation of African print. With the ever evolving vintage fashion, NN Vintage sees the fusion of modern, creative, elegant and stylish wear, with the vibrant, colourful and unique African print, by having a fresh approach in designs that appreciate modern fashion with a stimulation cultural threads.

Inspiration behind the label

Nhlanhla Nciza truly admires the vintage style of wear, mainly for the abundance of elegance in vintage fashion and its ever-evolving nature and that is timelessness. That merged with the love of using bright, bold colours and African prints, which would creatively be matched to complement each other.

NN Vintage clothing DNA

The clothing is characterized the by the fusion of different type of fabrics. Fabrics from Kenya, Uganda, Ghana and South Africa are dominantly used in this collection. We fused a number of elements in our designs and fabrics to showcase the diversity of the brand e.g. we fused leather with sequin to give some garments the urban glam, stretch cotton with fur, African prints with leather to give a modern touch. To maintain our vintage signature, we designed timeless pieces as well, fusing the soft blue tulle with classis sequin fabrics. Without limiting ourselves, “contrast” was the order of the day, combining bright African colours with bold textured fabrics.
