Casting its eye over Table Mountain, in the heart of Cape Town’s working harbour, the V&A Waterfront offers visitors a host of unforgettable experiences, and to add to those, the V and A Waterfront has been confirmed as the haute spot for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2017 Model Casting, taking place on Friday, the 3rd of March, from 11am-2pm.
An eclectic blend of local and international brands, the V&A Waterfront is a microcosm of the current fashion scene in South Africa, celebrating local Heritage Designers at the Watershed in particular, as well as premium international Houses of Fashion.
This woven tapestry of talent and trends, on both the local and international frontier celebrates diversity whilst symbolizing aspirational designs and inspirational platforms, as part of the vision of fashion in South Africa and beyond.
As esteemed Designer, David Tlale has said: “South African fashion is changing the game on the continent, emerging on the international platform, producing premium brands and the world is watching. We have the passion, platform and infrastructure to make our mark on the international fashion calendar;” and this passion, platform and infrastructure is what the V and A Waterfront is all about.
Mercedes-Benz is all about ‘the best or nothing,’ and the V&A Waterfront boasts the best in both local and international offerings, from a fashion-forward focus.
The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2017 Model Casting, schedule to be held in the Entrance 4 piazza, will provide a platform where hopefuls, who have confirmed their attendance through their respective agencies prior to the casting, will have the opportunity to strut their stuff for the chance to wear the likes of local designers, such as Gavin Rajah, David Tlale, Craig Port, MaXhosa by Laduma, Khosi Nkosi, Taibo Bacar, Stefania Morland, and Fashion Revolution; to name a few, and walk the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2017.
For onlookers, tourists and the like, it will be a case of Top Model meets Project Runway, as they experience a sneak peek of all the behind-the-scenes action of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town 2017, immersing themselves in the experience.
This is just another experiential platform to Experience AFI, engaging, entertaining and inspiring audiences both on and off the catwalk.
We look forward to seeing you there.
