A Celebration of Classic Femininity through Modern Fashion

Taku Dlamini Range

Zimbabwean-born fashion designer, Taku Dlamini is redefining women’s fashion staples, giving
a modern twist on the beloved blouses, flowy dresses and culottes.

Taking a step back from complicated and boldly colourful designs that often make their way
onto the runway, for her latest collection, Taku Dlamini decided to opt for a more minimal and
sophisticated aesthetic. Making use of a simple but timeless colour palette of lily-white, navy,
and a hint of sky blue, each garment exudes restraint and effortless practicality.
According to Dlamini, her pieces “allow the wearer to determine what femininity is for
themselves” without being forced to take on a prescribed mould.

Elegant Tailoring

In an increasingly informal world, Taku Dlamini has redefined and introduced tailoring through relaxed yet polished pantsuits, culottes, and shirts, and combining the comfort of loungewear with the appearance of simplistic elegance.

Taku’s design approach to classic wardrobe essentials is marked by soft tailoring, where the suit jackets are stripped of their lining and traditional heavy padding and structure, and the inclusion of less structured shoulders, to reveal and accentuate the female form.

Reconstructed Shirts

A well-tailored shirt should be a staple in everyone’s wardrobe, but finding the perfect shirt can be near impossible. Add to that the evolution of the white shirt which may now incorporate that off-the-shoulder feel, or be oversized with ruffle detailing; you really have your work cut out for you to create the effortless chic provided by the crisp, button-up shirt.

We love how Taku Dlamini has worked with the deconstructed shirt trend, making it a women’s
wardrobe game-changer.
