Africa Fashion International (AFI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie, is excited to announce the esteemed line-up of designers participating in the Africa Fashion Unites Fundraising Fashion Show. The highly anticipated event will take place on Friday, 09 February 2024 at a prestigious venue in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
The Africa Fashion Unites Fundraising Fashion Show serves as a convergence of fashion, culture, and sport, highlighting the philanthropic efforts of AFI and its partners.
Featuring designers from the nations that participated in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which ends on 11 February 2024, this event promises to showcase the incredible talent and creativity present in African fashion.
Africa Fashion Unites: A Fusion of Fashion, Culture, and Community Empowerment
The following renowned African fashion brands will be showcasing their exceptional collections at the Africa Fashion Unites Fundraising Fashion Show.
Côte d’Ivoire’s iconic designers Pathé ‘O, Loza Maléombho, Lafalaise Dion, Kente Gentleman, and Laurence Airline will open the show with a showcase that will celebrate the finesse of the Ivorian fashion industry.
Joining them on the runway will be some of the best designer brands from the continent: Larry Jay (Ghana), Mai Atafo (Nigeria), Taibo Bacar (Mozambique), Melisa Poulton (Namibia), Marie Louis Bishara (Egypt), Maison Sara Chraibi (Morocco), Niuku (Mauritania), Urban Zulu (Democratic Republic of Congo), Malondié (South Africa), Sisters of Afrika (Senegal), Kreyaan' (Cameroon), Casa Moda Lucas Escalada (Equitorial Guinea), Sorobis (Burkina Faso), Nadir Tati (Angola), Oshy by Sallah Barka (Tunisia), Millogo (Mali), Esnoko (Zambia) and Doreen Mashika (Tanzania).
AFI’s in-house brand, AFI Privé, will also be featured in the show, showcasing their latest capsule collection specially designed for the AFU Fundraising Fashion Show.
These designers have been carefully chosen for their exceptional talent and ability to capture the essence of African fashion. Each collection represents a unique blend of traditional African aesthetics and contemporary design elements.
Ivorian culture will be celebrated with leading performers from the country. Confirmed performers include the renowned chanteuse Josey, who stole the show at the AFCON2023 Opening Ceremony with her performance; Kassoutri, DJ Asna and Sorayow.
Fashion Meets Philanthropy
One of the main highlights of the evening will be a fundraising auction in support of the Centre Artisanal ABE APO ÉLISABETH in Montézo, Alépé District.
Founded by Michéle Yakice, the centre aims to create opportunities for fashion creatives and entrepreneurs in the global fashion industry.
The auction will offer guests a rare chance to bid on exclusive paraphernalia from AFCON 2023, including limited edition items.
Attendees will bid for the Limited Edition AFCON 2023 Final Ball, which will be signed by African football legends.
They will also be able to bid for the jerseys of the final teams- Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria, which will be signed by the team's players.
