The opening evening of AFI Fashion Week Joburg, on Thursday 05 October, was a success. Designers such as Nao Serati, Matte Nolim and Orapeleng Modutle showed off their spring/ summer collections to an enthusiastic audience of influencers, fashion critics and the media.
Friday’s lineup of collections from TUT students, AFI’s Privé, MaXhosa by Laduma, Presidential, and others is expected to be another charming showing of Africa and Asia’s best design talent.
Unfortunately, the CLAN and Deola Sagoe shows, which was scheduled to take place on Friday 05 October 2018 at 21:30, has been cancelled due to visa complications. While African Fashion International (AFI) has done their utmost to allow the designers entry into the country, the efforts will not ensure their timely arrival.
Clan and Deola were looking forward to being a part of the amazing #AfroAsia theme fashion week and they send their sincere apologies to all their clients and supporters. The designers and AFI hope that their avid supporters will be able to see the CLAN and Deola collections soon.
AFI apologise for the inconvenience this cancellation may cause. Those who have purchased tickets to the show may upgrade to another show or ask for a refund.
