 Cape Town, 08 November 2024 - Africa Fashion International (AFI) is proud to announce the first set of confirmed designers for Cape Town Fashion Week: The Edit SS24, an event that will seamlessly blend Fashion, Food, Art, Music, and Entertainment. This season’s lineup offers a strategic blend of established names and fresh talent, showcasing the dynamism of African fashion.  

Globally renowned fashion designer, Gavin Rajah leads the South African cohort, bringing his extensive experience as both the creative director of the event, and a showcasing designer.

Rajah is accompanied on the schedule by South Africa’s Malondié’s Londeka Buthelezi-NdabaBathini Designs’ Bathini Kowane, and Scalo by Sello Medupe, alongside the finale collections by the AFI Fastrack Prize 2023 finalists.  

AFI’s in-house brand, AFI Privé, will also launch its highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2024/25 signature collection at this year’s event.

Expanding beyond South Africa, the lineup features influential Pan-African designers including Alia Baré (Niger), Sisters of Afrika’s Helene Daba (Senegal), Laurence Chauvin-Buthaud of Laurence Airline (Côte d’Ivoire), and Papy Kaluw of Urban Zulu (Democratic Republic of Congo). Each designer’s unique perspectives and fashion philosophy represents the richness of African fashion on a global stage.
