Namibia’s young fashion star Chanté Bock is the epitome of a conscious fashion designer.

While she graduated from fashion school some four years ago with a keen interest in futuristic themes, she has since developed an appreciation for slow fashion.

Meaningful Fashion

Leading a pack of young, Namibian fashion creatives pushing the sector through authentic representation, Chanté has always had a disdain for fast fashion. It was no surprise then that since graduating from fashion school, she has steered away from following popular trends.

And while sustainable fashion is not easy to commit to in Namibia (given a lack of legislative support and industry structure), Chanté’s fashion and textiles brand, Chanté Jenae pushes for sustainable and ethical production. The brand is as much about creating garments that have meaning and value, as it is about using production processes with the least impact on the environment. This is done through “a sustainable approach in sourcing, designing and production.”

What we love about the collection:

High quality, eco-friendly fabric …

Chanté chose only natural fabrics for each piece, with special attention paid to the construction and finishing of every garment. The eco-friendly fabrics that the collection is made up of include cotton twill, 100% linen, viscose and linen blends plus a rayon-linen blend – all of which are carefully selected for their qualities which range from durability, breathability and texture.

The Perfect Colour Palette

Inspired by nature, Chanté draws on earth and water tones for each piece, with colours that will take you from the coastal town of Swakopmund, Namibia, all the way to the metroposis of Cairo, Egypt. If you’re in the process of putting together your Summer capsule, look no further!  The colour palette in this collection renders itself perfect to be combined, mixed and matched with other pieces.

Bold, Fun Summer Capsule Essentials

Capsule basics don’t have to be dull and Chanté Jenae understands this. Think pencil and mini skirts but with a slit, cropped summer tops if you’re on the bold side and the perfect white chinos perfect for any occasion.

A How-To Guide To Care For Each Piece

Ever felt intimidated by designer garments and didn’t know how to care for them? As part of their sustainability ethos, Chanté Jenae clearly lists fabric care instructions for all items in this collection – in an effort to keep the garments longer.
