Africa’s most inspirational fashion designers will migrate south to one of the most beautiful cities in the world, in what is billed to be a fusion of fashion, art and design at AFI Cape Town Fashion Week from 21 – 24 March 2018.
#IamAfrica: AFI Cape Town Fashion Week regains its African heritage with a show schedule that includes designers from Accra, Cape Town, Casablanca, Dakar, Dar Es Salaam, Kinshasa, Lagos, Nairobi, Port Elizabeth, and Joburg.
Introducing Adele Dejak – Nairobi, Kenya
For the first time ever, AFI Cape Town Fashion Week, will feature and headline a jewellery and accessories designer on the main schedule.
“The brand has always been deeply interested and influenced by tribal adornment of the Maasai, Samburu, Pokot and Turkana communities. Before the beaded adornment for which the Maasai tribe is world-famous for, they crafted their accessories using metallic. Our latest range will examine this tradition with fresh lenses: as proof that the future of fashion is to be found in its past.” Adele Dejak
