Khothatso Tsotetsi started his career in fashion design right after finishing high school. In pursuit of his passion he then studied fashion at Tshwane University of Technology. He studied through the years while interning in a fashion studio in Pretoria called Monarchy Couture.
In 2010, he became a finalist in the Eco Design competition and won a chance to exhibit in Sweden (Malmo) the following year in March 2011. Furthermore, in his second year of study, the faculty’s advisory board committee appointed him as a member. Later that year Khothatso was asked to be a judge at the Walter Sisulu University’s end of year fashion show.
Khothatso interned for Clive Rundle in his final year of study moreover awarded best range innovative winner and best entrepreneurial student at the annual end of year fashion show. He worked as a relief teacher for art and design in Riverside High School. He later judged at the DSSA annual fashion show. In 2012, Khothatso was a Fastrack Young Designer Finalist and showcased at the Mercedez Benz AFI Fashion Week. Later that year, he showcased a collection for Nivea Black and White campaign at the AFI Fashion Week Africa. His work has been published in publications around Africa and he was regarded the young designer to look out for by IFashion. He dressed performers Kelly Khumalo, The Muffinz and Ntokozo Mbambo for the South African Music Awards (SAMA 19) album of the year medley.
