Tuelo Nguyuza Collectiv

Tuelo Nguyuza, founder of Tuelo Nguyuza Collectiv started his career by studying fashion design at the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria. He worked in retail for several years before he won himself a spot in the African Fashion International (AFI) Fastrack competition in 2014 as one of the four winners. With this came the opportunity of working alongside local fashion houses such as Augustine and Tsotetsi KL. With invaluable skills and experiences in hand, Tuelo fulfilled his lifelong dream and launched Tuelo Nguyuza Collectiv whose garments have walked in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in both Johannesburg and Cape Town, and have also graced the covers of local magazines. In 2016 Collectiv Culture was born, an extension of Tuelo Nguyuza Collectiv, which puts a modern twist on South African cultural wedding dresses without compromising on the aesthetics of a culture.

Tuelo Nguyuza Collectiv is a high end fashion brand for a chic and sophisticated clientele which embraces both the new and old perspectives on everyday elegance with a subtle edge. Tuelo’s idea of women’s fashion is one that blends the old and the new to offer garments with a high end appeal. The designs are unconventional with a glamourous approach that is chic and wearable with a subtle edge.
