Africa Fashion International (AFI) is calling all aspiring and professional models to audition for the upcoming AFI Fashion Experience in Johannesburg. 

This is a unique opportunity to walk the runway for Africa’s leading fashion designers and be part of an exclusive fashion showcase that celebrates style, craftsmanship, and innovation.

Successful models embody confidence, versatility, and the ability to bring garments to life on the runway. 

The model casting will take place in two rounds.

Phase 1: Models are to submit their details and a digital Z-card, along with an Instagram portfolio link where their work and runway walk can be assessed. 

Phase 2: Only selected models will be invited to the in-person casting, where they will showcase their skills before a panel of industry experts.

Requirements: Female models must be 1.74m or taller, while male models must be 1.80m or taller.

Industry veteran Gavin Rajah, renowned for his contributions to fashion and luxury, shares key advice for models looking to succeed at castings:

• Professionalism is key: Being on time for fittings, rehearsals, and shows demonstrates respect for the team and keeps everything running smoothly.
• Attitude matters: Challenges and last-minute changes are common. Models who maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude, even under pressure, will not only stand out but also be remembered for future opportunities.
• Respect is essential: The ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment is what sets professionals apart. From designers to makeup artists to fellow models, treating every person with respect fosters a positive reputation in the industry.
