AFI Red Carpet at Miss SA 2024: A Dazzling Display of Glamour

Africa Fashion International (AFI) triumphantly resurrected the lost art of red carpet glamour with the AFI Red Carpet at the Miss South Africa pageant.

Saturday afternoon in Pretoria witnessed a dazzling parade of stars, celebrities, and industry luminaries descending upon the AFI Red Carpet, setting the stage for a night of crowning glory.

Hosted by the dynamic duo of Jo-Ann Strauss and Dr Fezile Mkhize, the red carpet was a masterclass in style and sophistication. Clad in custom-made AFI Atelier creations, the hosts exuded effortless elegance.

Jo-Ann's emerald green gown, complete with a dramatic flower and thigh-high slit, was a showstopper, while Dr Fezile's classic white dinner jacket and black accents epitomised timeless style. Their presence elevated the event to new heights.

Miss South Africa 2023, Natasha Joubert, shut down the AFI Red Carpet in a pink tulle skirt worn with a bandeau top and the Mowana crown.

The 'White Tie' dress code was interpreted with panache by guests, creating a visual feast for viewers tuned into SABC 3.

Miss SA CEO, Stephanie Weil, made a striking impression in a beaded Gert-Johan Coetzee gown, while COO, Schané Fouché, turned heads in a gold mini-dress with a dramatic train.

The pageant's former queens, including Rolene Strauss, Tamaryn Green, Vanessa Carriera-Coutroulis, and Ndavhi Nokeri, graced the carpet in show-stopping ensembles.

Miss Universe 1978, Margaret Gardiner, defied age in a crimson tulle gown, accessorised with stylish sunglasses by Rolene Strauss.

The judging panel, comprising Lerato Kganyago, Thembi Seete, and Leandie du Randt, embraced the red carpet spirit with vibrant gowns by Gert-Johan Coetzee, Otis Seflo and Anel Botha.

Londeka Buthelezi-Ndaba of Malondié stole the show with a breathtaking leopard-print gown, showcasing her status as one of Africa's most exciting designers.

Former professional netball player, Vanes-Mari Du Toit exuded old-world elegance in a black gown with white opera sleeves, while Nomalanga Shozi (in AFI Privé) and Somizi Mhlongo (in Masango) made a bold statement in off-white suits.

The AFI Red Carpet at Miss South Africa was a triumph of fashion and style, reminding us of the power of a well-curated red carpet moment.
