AFI to Host African Fashion Unites Celebration at the UNGA

New York, NY – September 21, 2023 – African Fashion International (AFI), Africa’s leading Fashion Events, Media, and Lifestyle company, is set to captivate the world's attention during the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI) gala dinner on Thursday, 21 September 2023, alongside the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Week.
AFI will host an exclusive VIP fashion show, themed "African Fashion Unites," at New York City’s iconic Cipriani Wall Street®.
This remarkable event will spotlight the brilliance of Africa's fashion industry and its capacity to drive economic growth through the textile and manufacturing industry.
AFI's Founder and Executive Chair, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, expressed her excitement about the showcase.

Over the past 16 years, AFI has earned a reputation for producing some of the most impressive events that showcase the splendour of Africa's fashion industry. AFI has welcomed the world's luxury industry through strategic collaborations with the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference in 2019, held alongside Cape Town Fashion Week.
AFI also partnered with Forbes in 2022 to host the Forbes AFI Fashion Experience in Abu Dhabi during the Forbes 30/50 Summit, as well as the Forbes 30/30 Summit in Kasane, Botswana. These collaborations have exposed Pan-African designers to a global market, whilst highlighting the unique craftsmanship of the African continent.

Additionally, AFI has worked with the Afreximbank to produce fashion shows during the Canex WKND in Durban, South Africa, and Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire, in 2021 and 2022, respectively. AFI is poised to continue its commitment to the fashion industry by hosting Joburg Fashion Week 2023 from November 8th to 12th, celebrating Joburg as one of the world's leading fashion capitals.
