AFI Insider paid him a visit at he K.Moraba & Collective studio, to get a sneak peek into what to expect at Cape Town Fashion Week.
Keletso’s fashion success story began in 2016 when he won The Intern by David Tlale. This life-changing moment catapulted him into the spotlight, where his work started gaining recognition.
"That’s where everything started," he recalls. "People noticed my work, and after assisting someone for a year and a half, I decided to pursue my dream of having my own studio."
Since launching in 2017, K.Moraba & Collective has become synonymous with quality and craftsmanship, attracting high-profile clientele that Keletso himself could never have imagined.
“It’s humbling to see how far we’ve come,” he shares. “We’ve created a home for ourselves in the fashion world, and with AFI on board, it truly feels like family.”
For his SS24 collection, Keletso steps into uncharted territory, presenting Resort Wear for the first time.

“This collection is a milestone for us,” he says. “We’re not just taking a risk; we’re proving that we’re capable of delivering in this space. The pieces are fresh, sophisticated, and versatile—perfect for holiday vibes, safari looks, and easy luxury.”
From effortless separates to bold statement pieces, Keletso’s Resort Wear redefines what it means to blend comfort with couture. Think breezy fabrics, earthy tones, and silhouettes that transition seamlessly from a sun-drenched afternoon to an elegant evening soirée.
Keletso doesn’t follow fleeting trends; instead, he finds inspiration in his journey and his heritage.
“Each season, I look back at my past work and ask, ‘What can we upgrade?’” he says. This reflective approach is deeply rooted in his upbringing.
“My mother, a seamstress, sparked my love for fashion. I used to sneak into her studio, cutting fabrics and dressing mannequins—long before I even understood what I was doing.”
This grounding in craft is evident in every stitch of his work. “For me, quality is everything. That’s why our clients keep coming back—they love the care and precision we put into each piece.”
On which fellow House of Nala Collective designer he would love to collaborate with he doesn't hesitate to mention Malondié designer, Londeka Buthelezi-Ndaba.
"I feel like she's fresh. We are different, but when we come together it would make a statement."
K.Moraba & Collective will showcase in the South African Fashion show alongside AFI Privé, Fabrosanz, Julia Buchana, and Scalo, at 4pm.
