AFI’s Power to Empower was a gathering of some of South Africa’s most prominent women in leadership, business, academia, sports, and fashion. And amongst those attendees were three Miss South Africa winners, Basetsana Kumalo (Miss SA 1994), Zozibini Tunzi (Miss SA 2019) and reigning queen, Natasha Joubert.
And it was a treat for guests at AFI’s Power to Empower High Tea, having the had rare opportunity of experiencing Miss South Africa reunion at the event.
Hosted by AFI at the Houghton Golf Club, the Power To Empower High Tea was a celebration of women who have paved the way for others to become successful themselves.
The atmosphere exuded an air of celebration as this high tea marked a special tribute to those women who had blazed trails for others to follow in pursuit of success.

Guided by the radiant charisma of Zozibini Tunzi, who captivated hearts worldwide when she won Miss Universe 2019 title, this unforgettable event embodied empowerment in every sense.
Zozibini Tunzi took centre stage as a vision of elegance. Dressed in a black pleated maxi dress with stylish abdominal cut-outs designed by Mmuso Maxwell, she effortlessly commanded attention. Her ensemble was further accentuated by gold armbands adorning her wrists and a vibrant lime scarf artfully draped around her hair—a symbol of her distinct individuality.
Basetsana Kumalo effortlessly showcased her timeless style expertise by donning a resplendent yellow pastel cocktail that radiantly reflected her vivacious personality.
Natasha Joubert, was a breath-taking vision in white. She looked stunning in a white fit-and-flare mini-dress by her go-to designer, Jolache Couture, she exuded.
The dress showcased meticulous craftsmanship with delicate flower appliqués that danced upon its pristine fabric.
Miss Universe South Africa 2023, Bryoni Govender, was also in attendance, wearing a pearl-coloured form fitting cocktail midi-dress with a cascading pleated skirt by Exodus Original.
Together they epitomised luxury and elegance beyond compare – iconic figures inextricably linked by their affiliation with Miss South Africa.
